Why do marines always get the glory?

I've noticed that every morning there is a 'marine' weather forecast on TV. Why can't they say it's a 'military' weather forecast instead?

Why do marines always get the glory?
Haha...i hope

In case you're not joking, it's from Maritime weather ,meaning of or relating to navigation or commerce on the sea. Nothing to do with the Marines...at all.

oh....%26amp; Happy new year
Reply:lol

the marine weather forcast is based on off shore weather not a branch of the armed forces
Reply:the marines may get the glory, but the sailors get the girls!
Reply:Is this a joke or are you really a moron?

Marine = Maritime = Sea/Ocean.

Dumb@ss.
Reply:Well honestly I can't speak about the weather because we don't have that in our area, it must be a local thing for your t.v. probably because one of the station managers relatives is a marine.

But the broader question is "Why do Marines get the glory". Well I am a former Marine and I can say that I notice everybody gets equal glory. if it was a soldier doing the weather I am sure they would say Soldier Weather. The bottom line is Marines aren't soldiers, they are Marines, and granite yes we are a part of the military but we are a distinct part that deserves special recognition. I bet you didn't know that the Marine Corps is the only branch of the armed services that the president does NOT need congressional approval for military action.that's why the Marines are "The first to fight". We also get recognition cause our boot camp is the hardest and more rigorous than any other basic training. Marines pride themselves on holding themselves to a higher standard than your average service.If you have ever seen boot camp documentaries of all the services you would understand better. Hope this helped you out.
