Valentines Poem - What do you think.?

Some people think it’s just to shop

Commercial profit to top it off

But strip away the dollar signs

And all you find is St Valentines

Long ago through history’s glory

Legends tells of loves true story

St Valentine is jailed and waits

As he will not renounce his faith

The jailer’s daughter he befriends

And finds he loves her to the end

When deaths morning does arrive

A lovers note he leaves behind

And in his hand he does inscribe

The words ‘From Your Valentine’

So just remember every year

The tale that was not engineered

And pass between us lovers notes

To tell of feelings we devote

For love that is held and yearned

In hopes that it will be returned

There is only one thing left to say

With all my heart in every way

So fortunate that you are mine

Please will you be my Valentine
