I plant morning glories for the east-but would like to find some for the west-to attrack butterflies and hummingbirds-might be to hot in the summer-I saw a hummimgbird at my neighbors-but they were fake plants-I live outside of Chicago-Thanks
I have 2 balconies-1 east and 1 west-?
there are 'butterfly bushes' that would be great on a west balcony, they are similar to a lilac but smaller. if you want hummingbirds you need to put the feeders out before may , you want them to find your feeders first, then they will nest nearby and feed all summer. A gardenia or a tropical hibiscus in a pot would also do very well on the west side. good luck!
