If anyone would have told me to do this I would have laughed, but my husband started pouring out the left over cokes and beer (after a cookout or b-day party) on my rose bushes and morning glories, I couldnt believe how much faster they grew and the leaves on my morn-glories grew bigger than my hand.
This is good for my outdoor plants...?
The coke has sugar that breaks down the soil and enriches the dirt The beer acts as a bug repelent. Left over dishwashing water works very well also.
Reply:Well, the soda and beer are obviously acting as fertilizer. I would be careful about it, though. While fertilizing is good for plants, too much of any kind of fertilizing substance will cause the plant to use up too much energy producing flowers and wither before its season is done. It could be the acid in the drinks. Some plants prefer acidic soil.
