Flower gardening?

The leaves on my morning glories are turning yellow, and then getting brown spots. What is causing this?

Flower gardening?
Count on the fact that it's too much water. Plants that get too much water drown just the same as you would. The warning sign is usually bright yellow leaves. The brown spots are a secondary fungal spot, also probably due to too moist conditions. Put down the hose.
Reply:I have one morning glory. It comes back every year, in the same place. Never have any problems with it. It grows so large and spreads some pretty flowers . I think maybe it yours is getting to much water. That will cause root rot and cause those black spots some time on alot of other plants. Try keeping is dry for a while and see how it does it need s little water, I was looking at mine today full of flowers, It is growing on a slab of concert and no water but when it rains. The root is coming from under the house. Good luck Pem
Reply:heat.
Reply:Yellowingis usually caused by improper watering, Brown spots are usually a sign of fungal disease if in center of leaf. If on on edge of leaf, watering may be problem.

Morning glories are annuals and the life cycle may be over for the variety you are growing. you might consider pinching or cutting the vines back to iencourage new growth
Reply:It could be two things and it is hard to know which one. If it is hot where you are, it could be not enough water. However it could be too much. Too much water will cause spots and if it you are watering more than you usually do because it is hot that is not good either. You should water the same amount you did before just a little more often. The best thing to do is take a leaf to your local Agriculture department and they can tell you right away. They can tell you if it is a bug as well. Good luck !
Reply:Additional water will strengthen them. Don't worry about the brown spots.
