Do Mormons really believe Jesus and satan are brothers?

Jesus, according to Milton Hunter of the LDS First Council of the Seventy, is the brother of Lucifer. "The appointment of Jesus to be the Savior of the world was contested by one of the other sons of God. He was called Lucifer, son of the morning. Haughty, ambitious, and covetous of power and glory, this spirit-brother of Jesus desperately tried to become the Savior of mankind" (The Gospel Through the Ages, p. 15).

The bible says Jesus is GOD

Jn 1:1,14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, 14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Col 1:15-16 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.

Do Mormons really believe Jesus and satan are brothers?
The Mormon church is a non-Christian cult.
Reply:How many times are people going to ask this? yes! He is OUR brother too...so that means...uh oh...WE are Satans brothers and sisters too -SPIRITUAL brothers and sisters. Report It
Reply:We believe that we are all spirit brothers and sisters, and God is our Heavenly Father.
Reply:yeah well all the troubles in the world are due to brotheryly snickering, so why should it be different up there?
Reply:We believe we are ALL spirit daughters and sons of our Heavenly Father, that includes you! We believe Christ is our brother also, and since God created everyone and everything, that means...hmmm...he created Lucifer...and WE are even his brothers and sisters. We are all Heavenly Fathers children.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

"Word" is another name for Jesus Christ. So, let's replace it.

In the beginning was Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ was with God, and Jesus Christ was God.

Makes perfect sense to me...Christ was fore-ordained to be the Lord and Savior and Lucifer wanted to be and rebelled against God the Father when he was rejected.

Also, they are *spirit* brothers, not physical brothers because Lucifer will never have a physical body.

I am not sure why this is such a hard concept to grasp....
Reply:Jesus and Satan are brothers because both of them were created by God the Father. Jesus is part of the godhead but he is not the same person as God the Father. The baptism of Jesus Christ demonstrates the truth about the godhead. In Luke 3:21-22 it says, "Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased." It doesn't make any sense to me that Jesus when he was baptized descended from heaven upon himself in the form of a dove and then he threw his voice and announced from the heavens that he was pleased with himself. If Jesus is God then he evidently wanted to trick the people witnessing the baptism into thinking otherwise. These aren't false teachings and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches the same things today as it always has.
Reply:The religion of the Church of LDS is based on manuscripts written by Solomon Spaulding as religious fiction. There are many strange things in the Book of Mormon.
Reply:So to speak they are. I'm a Mormon. Satan used to be one of Gods children before the war he started in heaven. Satan had a plan to make everyone go back to Heaven, but Jesus thought we should all have free agency. Satan used to be the god of the sun in a way he was in charge of light. When the war broke out people had to choose you chose Jesus's plan becuase you're here with a body. Everyone that went with Satan were cast down to earth and are now used to try and get us to bad and turn away from good. After the war God in a way dishoned him as a son. There are 3 spirits that run everything Jesus, the Lord and the Holy Ghost. Jesus is a God in a way like people would think Zeus was a God he is not the guy that created us but he is treated like a God for dying for our sins. All that info. up there is true but you have to look at the person's religous perspective of it all.
