Morning glories...?

I put morning glory seeds in water to soak today. Some of them sunk to the bottom of the container and other floated. Do you know why some sink and some float? Are one of them bad?

Morning glories...?
Obviously, you know what you are talking about if you are soaking them and wondering if there is a difference to some seeds floating and some sinking to the bottom. The ones floating are the non-viable seeds (embryo has dried up making the seed light, and floatable).. the ones at the bottom are the viable seeds (heavier with good embryo).

Reply:you might wanna put a nick in them, that helps them get germinated I think
Reply:the ones that float are probably not good ones. sort of empty of any goodness.

The ones that sink are raring to go.

Sow them and enjoy your display
Reply:No, there is no problem some do that.

Enjoy your morning glory's make sure you harvest the seed for next year
Reply:Yes they do sink to the bottom sometimes. And you can take them and nick them with a pair of nail clippers. That should get them going. Happy Growing.
