Can My Seedlings Go Outside Into A Cold Frame...?

My seedlings have now reached a point where I need to p*ick them out and put them into individual cells. In order to maximise the space (my seedlings are started off on the windowsill), I have bought a plastic four tier greenhouse and was wondering if it was okay to put the seedlings straight out into this? Will they get sufficient protection to be able to grow on?

NB - I am growing busy lizzies, dahlias, cosmos, tomatoes and morning glory...

Can My Seedlings Go Outside Into A Cold Frame...?
Cold will make them go limp I would recommend using some light fleece to keep them warm I've used some old net curtains before in my green house its not too cold where I live as I have a sheltered garden fairly free from wind chill, and not so prone to exposure to frost. The inside fleece from old pillows is thick and another option.
Reply:It depends on the zone you're growing your seedlings in. For ex., this would be different in FL than in MN. The climate is definitiely a factor. I would recommend hardening off the seedlings by s-l-o-w-l-y acclimating them to the outdoors. It generally takes about a week for the seedlings to move safely from your nice cozy home where they have been nurtured to the outdoors.

So, during the sunniest part of the day, set them outdoors for four-six hours for four days or so. As you get closer to the end of the seven day period, leave them out longer periods of time.

One of the things I tried this year was setting the seedlings on the top of the shed to get them even closer to the sun. This was purely experimental. I cover them with lightweight cloth or plastic once the temps drop below 40 deg.
Reply:Sure but mom aways made wear a coat
Reply:Yes-put clear plastic sheeting (around 3mil thick purchased at hardware store) over some kind of frame-built or use something found around the house. Hold down the sides with filled gallon plastic jugs. Provide ventilation if necessary %26amp; get a thermometer. Wait till plants sprout before putting outdoors. Provide partial shading for the first week so plants can adjust to full sun %26amp; keep temps. between 40 %26amp; 82 degrees F. To help protect against colder night temps., surround plants with large containers of water-the sun heats it up during the day %26amp; the water gives up its heat overnight.
Reply:I have a 3-4inch moon flower vine that I put out yesterday, I raised it inside- it didn't look good this morning! I put a half of gallon milk jug over it, hope it makes it! If you have a Cold frame, there shouldn't be any problem. Good luck!
Reply:no ..still a strong chance of frost ....
