Some of my contacts have been writing gooshy love poems... so I thought I would give it a try?

"Morning Glory"



Charcoal black or freshly brewed

My faithfulness is well construed



On those days when you aren’t near

Poise of mind is slight, I fear



I’ll take you hot

On occasion, cold

Cream and sugar

Robust and bold



Heart be damned

Pot a day

Filtered grounds of dawn’s cliché

That was just beautiful! It speaks to me - my life, desires, dreams. Bravo, you have a gift for "expression." Haha.

Reply:Congrats. You are one of the people who wrote a moving and most of all, original love poem! It flows extremely well, the rhyme doesn't sound forced, you effectively used a original extended metaphor, and it's well written overall.

Reply:lol...I love it! The tone is perfect for the subject, the form fits as well. The "poise of mind" line is a little weak, but the rest of the poem works so well and the subject is so light and unpretentious that I'll still give it two thumbs up!

Reply:When I was in college "morning glory" had an entirely different meaning. However, after consuming your liturgical brew I think it may well be an appropriate description.
