Are morning glories poisonist to dogs? I need to know if I need to pull mine out and put something else there?

I have a trellis around my air conditioner with some morning glory plants going up them. I need to know if they are bad for dogs since I have one that loves to be outside. Do I need to pull them out and put something else in or are they fine?

Before you do anything rash, call your vet and ask them. Plus, your dog may not even care about them and will leave them alone.
Reply:Not a problem. Most animals are not attracted to plants that are detremental to heath.
Reply:Yes morning glories ARE poisonous. Infact they are also used as a hallucinogen drug by some (So much so that store bought seeds have a special coating to keep people from using them)

However, they pose more of a danger to grazing animals like sheep and cows. Most dogs I know won't go after one (even the grass loving dogs!) You can always use something like bitter apple spray on the plants to be extra cautious.

You know your dog best, if you think he will eat the plants remove them.
