Pull all the vines up by the roots and burn the pullings. Morning glory is beautiful but a nuisance spreader. Morningglory totally protects its life by jillions of seeds. All those little capsules you see are full of seeds and all it takes is a few and the morning glory is back. You need to rake up all the capsules that have fallen on the ground and burn as many as you can from pulling up the vines. Next spring or even now, check the area for the little seedlings or sprouts and pull those up now before they get a handle. Look for little triangular or heart shapes leaves that pop up from the ground in the area where the "mother" plant(s) are. Then look everywhere else because the seeds are hardy and spread.
