Since I have to go through the trouble of knicking all of the seeds, does anyone know if morning glories are easy to grow indoors into seedlings before transplanting outdoors?
The real long and short of the question is because I don't move into my new house for another month and I have an fence I plan on turning into a wall of morning glories, and i'm too excited to wait a month, lol.
But I'm unsure how fast they'll grow or how quickly they're start vining once they become seedlings and I don't want them to get a head of me...
Making seedlings out of morning glories...?
Very easy to grow, but nicking the seeds is a pain in the neck. Soak them overnight and the seed case will soften enough to speed germination (just don't leave them in the water for days or they'll turn to mush.) They'll sprout quickly (7-14 days ) in peat pellets and then you can plant them in long planters (indoors) and move the planters to the bottom of your fence when you move in.
Reply:i got high and start pressing buttons till i saw stars
Reply:According to Burpee Seeds you can start the seedlings 6 weeks before planting for early blooms ....
(just type in Burpee Seeds .... and I asked for 'morning glories' and chose to look at the instructions for Heavenly Blues ...)
They are beautiful
Have you ever thought of planting Moon Vine along with the morning glories? They bloom at night and have large white flowers that are shaped the same as morning glories, and have a scent that perfumes the evening in the most beautiful way ....
