They will usually take root when they are transplanted if you get a large amount of the soundering dirt and also water.

Reply:you have to root them in water then plant in dirt
Reply:Morning Glories are annuals. You can transplant them but they won't live through frost. If you bring them in the house they probably won't grow very well.
Reply:Why would you want to? The seeds are cheap and they spread like crazy....You'll have them in the same spot next year anyway. Where I come from, they are considered noxious weeds and are killed on purpose so keeping it makes no sense to me.
